Repair Shop Rules and Regulations

This is a shared room between the MUN Mini-Baja team and MUN BikeShare Repair Shop. Under no circumstance should BikeShare and Mini-Baja tools and equipment be used by the opposite group without consent from the other group. Each group agrees that they will maintain a clean and organized workspace and will not leave unnecessary clutter after they leave for the day except in circumstances where an ongoing project requires this.

General Shop Rules

  1. The Repair Shop offers an open and non-discriminatory environment. We invite people from all walks of life to come and work and learn about their bikes in a friendly and inclusive environment. Sexist and discriminatory behaviour and comments will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave and never come back.
  2. Please keep the shop clean at all times. A clean and organized shop prevents injuries and shows respects for other users.
  3. BikeShare users are asked to stop work 15 minutes before shop closure (if applicable) to ensure enough time is available for clean up.
  4. Please replace tools to their appropriate place to ensure all users have access to the limited number of tools. This means do one job at a time and immediately return tools before starting another repair job.
  5. Please clean all tools of dirt, grease and oil after each use.
  6. Personal safety equipment (gloves, eye protection, hard toed boots, etc…) should be worn when performing shops task that require them.
  7. Long hair and baggy clothing should be secured to prevent personal injury.
  8. Users should not operate any equipment or tools if they are unsure of their correct operation and have not been trained in their use.
  9. Oily and greasy rags are a fire hazard. Please ensure that they are left in a well ventilated, approved metal container, away from other flammables.
  10. Solvents and hazardous materials are often used in this shop. Please ensure that the area is well ventilated and that open flames are not present and that you follow  instructions for correct use and disposal.
  11. For BikeShare no more than 4 bikes are to be worked on at a time.
  12. You are using this shop at your own risk. We cannot be responsible for personal injury or damage to your bike or property.
  13. Please ensure that the shop is secure and the door locked at the end of the day.
